Alistair Tober
Founder & Creative Director
A Los Angeles native, Alistair grew up with music and performance at the center of his world. He attended the prestigious Hamilton Music Academy before heading to USC on a music scholarship while double majoring in acting. After years of gigging and taking on various acting roles (shoutout to Dexter!), Alistair decided to go all-in on his true passion: music.
In 2012, he founded VIPs Entertainment and has served as its Creative Director ever since. In 2019, Alistair and his family made the move to Nashville, helping VIPs continue to grow and expand.
Alistair loves the creative challenge of bringing a production to life, especially when an event calls for something truly unique. But his favorite place to be is still on stage, leading the band and performing on one of the biggest days of a couple’s life – their wedding! Getting to create those unforgettable moments for our clients is both humbling and a little nostalgic for Alistair, who gets to live out the dream he’s had since he was a kid.
When he’s not working on the next big event, you’ll usually find Alistair spending time with his wife and two kids – or watching his first true love: soccer. And yes, the Tober family’s goldendoodle is appropriately named Leo Messi!
Noah Molk
Chief Executive Officer
A Chicago native, Noah might just be one of the biggest sports fans you’ll ever meet. He attended Bucknell University and has called Chicago, New York City, and San Francisco home over the years. Before joining VIPs, Noah built his career in data science at Coatue and in deals consulting at PwC.
Noah’s love for bringing people together started at home. His mom loved to host, and growing up, Noah was always by her side helping with whatever needed to be done. He quickly learned that the smallest details could make people feel welcome and cared for. Naturally, his favorite job was creating the playlist for every gathering.
That love of music, hospitality, and making moments feel special has stayed with him ever since. Today, as CEO, Noah brings the same thoughtfulness and attention to detail to VIPs, always focused on creating experiences that people will remember for years to come.
When he’s not working or watching sports, you’ll likely find Noah and his wife exploring a mountain, searching for their next great meal, or putting their shared love of wine to good use in Napa.
How we Met
Great Question. Funny You Might Ask…
Like any good Hollywood story, this one starts with a wedding. When it came time for his own wedding, Noah approached the music exactly as you might expect: with an extremely meticulous setlist. Every song was carefully chosen, put in a specific order, and accompanied by very detailed instructions for his bandleader.
After his first meeting with the bandleader, Noah remembers calling their planner and asking, “Why can’t every vendor be as accommodating as this guy?” That bandleader, of course, was Alistair Tober. The wedding ended up being the best night of Noah and his wife’s lives. Alistair called the dance floor one of the most electric he’d seen in nearly two decades of performing. He even learned the harmonica for the final song, Billy Joel’s “Piano Man.” Noah still likes to point out that, of course, Alistair had time to learn the harmonica. He didn’t have to pick a single song.
Most wedding vendor relationships end when the lights come up. This one turned into a business partnership. Just a few weeks after the wedding, Alistair asked Noah to come on full time and lead the business side of VIPs. A groom hired a band. The bandleader learned the harmonica. And somehow, a few weeks later, they were building a company together. A little Hollywood, 100% organic, and an origin story we’ll always love.
